Deck overview

This mono-red resource denial deck uses Zo-Zu the Punisher to convert every land entry into direct damage. The game plan focuses on deploying early artifact acceleration, resolving Zo-Zu on Turn 3, and following up with mass land destruction like Ruination, From the Ashes, and Thoughts of Ruin on Turn 4. These spells wipe away opponent mana while this deck breaks parity using basic Mountains and nonland mana rocks. Punisher cards like Ankh of Mishra, Price of Glory, and Citadel of Pain tax opposing actions and punish attempts to rebuild. Lifelink equipment such as Basilisk Collar and Shadowspear offset the commander's self-inflicted damage. The deck wins by gradually burning the table as opponents attempt to play lands under the lock.
