Deck overview

This deck is a Shadowborn Apostle Aristocrats build helmed by Athreos, God of Passage. The primary game plan is to flood the battlefield with a critical mass of Apostles, use Thrumming Stone to chain them out for free, then sacrifice six to demon-tutor engines like Razaketh, the Foulblooded or Rune-Scarred Demon. The resulting demonic value provides both card advantage and a powerful drain finish via Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Cruel Celebrant, and The Meathook Massacre. Athreos acts as a recursion engine, returning dying Apostles to hand unless opponents pay 3 life - a cost they can rarely afford to pay repeatedly. The deck also packs Teysa Karlov to double death triggers, Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker to recur power-1 creatures, and mass reanimation spells like Immortal Servitude and Patriarch's Bidding to rebuild after wipes. The entire strategy revolves around the synergy between the Apostle counts, the commander, and the demonic payoffs.
