Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet control and spellslinger build led by Aegar, the Freezing Flame. The primary strategy uses targeted damage spells and sweepers to kill opposing creatures with excess damage, turning removal into steady card draw. The early game focuses on deploying mana rocks and establishing Aegar by turn 3. In the mid game, cheap burn spells like Abrade, Lava Coil, and Fiery Cannonade clear opposing commanders and utility creatures while keeping your hand full. In the late game, the deck pivots into win conditions such as Fiery Inscription and Guttersnipe, dealing damage to all opponents with every instant and sorcery cast. Backup beatdown plans come from Ominous Seas generating 8/8 Kraken tokens and Balmor, Battlemage Captain boosting the team with trample. The deck boasts strong spell-based interaction and countermagic, though it lacks direct enchantment removal and fast combo finishes.
