Commander: The Gitrog Monster

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

The Gitrog Monster commands a resilient Golgari lands strategy that transitions seamlessly between an explosive combo finish and overwhelming landfall creature swarms. The primary win condition loops Dakmor Salvage with a free discard outlet like Putrid Imp or Noose Constrictor while the commander is on the battlefield, dredging through the entire library to generate boundless draw triggers and graveyard access. From there, the deck converts card advantage into victory through an Altar of Dementia mill loop or an Ob Nixilis life drain barrage. If the combo is interrupted, secondary paths leverage ramp spells, Six, and Splendid Reclamation into game-ending army overruns using Avenger of Zendikar, Titania, and Craterhoof Behemoth.
