Deck overview

This mono-black deck is helmed by Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, focusing on weaponizing the card draw step into lethal burn. It accelerates into Sheoldred by Turn 3 or 4 using efficient black rituals and artifacts, then compounds pressure through forced-draw mechanics and symmetric wheel effects such as Teferi's Puzzle Box and Dark Deal. Opponents attempting to dig for answers lose substantial life chunks with every draw, turning standard advantage engines against them. High-tier hatebears including Opposition Agent and Dauthi Voidwalker stifle opposing search and graveyard strategies while Sheoldred's life-gain buffer absorbs incoming aggression. In addition to steady burn attrition, the list features compact infinite drain lines with Exquisite Blood and Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, backed by game-ending burst draw from Peer into the Abyss. The deck excels at board control and inevitability, though it remains vulnerable to artifact removal and repeated creature exile.
