Witches

Format: Commander

Commander: Ayara, First of Locthwain

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a mono-black drain aristocrats deck helmed by Ayara, First of Locthwain. The primary strategy is to generate incremental life loss and card advantage through creature ETB and death triggers, with a heavy subtheme of Curse enchantments that amplify the passive drain. The commander provides both a repeatable drain on black creature entry and a card draw outlet by sacrificing another black creature. The deck wins by slowly grinding opponents down, using token generation and targeted removal to control the board. There are no infinite combos; victory is achieved through sustained pressure from Cauldron Familiar loops, Bitterheart Witch-tutored Curses, and Curse of Thirst as a potential finisher. The mana base is dangerously thin (20 lands), which severely hampers the deck's consistency.
