Deck overview

This deck is an optimized Dimir tempo-burn strategy commanded by Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow. The primary game plan operates with extreme velocity: deploy an evasive 0-to-1-mana creature on Turn 1, cheat Yuriko into play on Turn 2 via Commander Ninjutsu for {U}{B}, and leverage combat damage triggers to generate card advantage while burning the entire table simultaneously. Topdeck manipulation tools like Brainstorm, Lim-Dûl's Vault, Scroll Rack, and Mystical Tutor stack massive mana value cards—such as Shadow of Mortality and Temporal Trespass—directly on top of the library, converting single combat connections into catastrophic 11-to-15 life-loss bursts to every opponent. Supported by low-cost and alternative-cost countermagic (Foil, Misdirection, Commandeer, Swan Song), the deck shields its attackers from removal while ignoring commander tax entirely. It applies relentless, non-targeted pressure that closes games around Turn 5 through compressed combat triggers and extra turns.
