Deck overview

This Golgari deck leverages The Serpent Society to turn low-cost deathtouch creatures into an oppressive board-control and combat engine. In the early turns, cheap deathtouchers combine with fight and bite spells like Infectious Bite and Bushwhack to act as unconditional, low-mana creature removal. Once the commander is deployed, any creature trade or sacrifice forces each opponent to sacrifice a nontoken creature, creating an asymmetric attrition engine that clears opposing battlefields. The deck closes games through multiple combat angles: Fynn, the Fangbearer converts unblocked deathtouch attackers into lethal poison counters, Aveline de Grandpré rapidly snowballs creature power, and Craterhoof Behemoth provides a decisive go-wide finish. Built-in ward on the commander deters single-target removal by threatening five poison counters, while graveyard recursion like Phyrexian Reclamation and Cauldron of Essence ensures long-term grind potential.
