Deck overview

This deck is an optimized Kaalia of the Vast combat-aggro and cheat-into-play strategy designed to deploy game-ending Angels, Demons, and Dragons ahead of curve. The game plan relies on rapid mana development through cheap mana rocks and fast mana to cast Kaalia on Turn 3, ideally equipped with haste via Lightning Greaves, Rising of the Day, or Arena of Glory. Upon declaring an attack on Turn 4, Kaalia cheats high-cost threats directly into combat, bypassing their hefty mana costs. Primary payloads include Master of Cruelties for instant player elimination, Rakdos the Defiler for devastating permanent attrition, and Bloodthirster or Aurelia for multiple combat steps. Robust protection spells such as Grand Abolisher, Flawless Maneuver, and Deflecting Swat safeguard Kaalia during critical combat steps, while Sneak Attack and reanimation spells like Reanimate provide resilient alternate cheat vectors if the commander is removed.
