Deck overview

This is a Bant +1/+1 counters deck helmed by Tidus, Yuna's Guardian. The primary plan is to build an enormous counter board using the deck's suite of counter doublers - Hardened Scales, Branching Evolution, Doubling Season, Conclave Mentor, Kami of Whispered Hopes, Benevolent Hydra, The Earth Crystal, and Ozolith, the Shattered Spire - then close the game either through combat (Triumph of the Hordes, Herald of Secret Streams) or through the infinite-mana combo of Freed from the Real with a scaled Gyre Sage or Kami of Whispered Hopes feeding Walking Ballista. Tidus's counter-moving ability puts counters where they need to be, and his Cheer trigger draws a card and proliferates on every turn. A solid tutor suite (Eladamri's Call, Green Sun's Zenith, Wargate, Nature's Rhythm, Invasion of Ikoria) and a deep draw package (Fathom Mage, Danny Pink, Pollywog Prodigy, Benthic Biomancer, Teferi, Hero of Dominaria) keep the deck consistent.
