Deck overview

This Golgari deck pairs poison counters with deathtouch synergies to eliminate opponents through toxic damage, infect, and proliferation. Commanded by Glissa, the Traitor, the deck leverages first strike and deathtouch to control the board while recurring key utility artifacts. Early turns establish mana velocity through cheap dorks and green land ramp, quickly deploying low-mana poison threats like Bilious Skulldweller, Venerated Rotpriest, and Fynn, the Fangbearer. Mid-game turns scale pressure using proliferate engines such as Evolution Sage, Bloated Contaminator, and Throne of Geth. The removal suite is broad and efficient, dismantling problematic permanents with Assassin's Trophy, Abrupt Decay, and Toxic Deluge. While the deck controls ground combat effortlessly, it requires multiple turns of creature attacks to reach 10 poison counters on all opponents, making it reliant on maintaining board presence against opposing sweepers.
