Commander: Smaug the Magnificent

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a mono-red Dragon/Treasure deck helmed by Smaug the Magnificent, a haste 4/3 flyer that pings any target for the number of Treasures you control and creates a Treasure each upkeep. The engine is explosive Treasure generation - Xorn, Goldspan Dragon, Reaver Cleaver, Diamond Pick-Axe, Magda, Brazen Outlaw, and Ganax, Astral Hunter - which fuels a massive mana base and the primary kill: chained extra combat steps from Hellkite Charger, Scourge of the Throne, and Desert Were-Worm. Secondary wins include the artifact-count alt conditions Hellkite Tyrant (20 artifacts) and Knuckles the Echidna (30 artifacts), plus Smaug's own ping with a large hoard. The deck plays as a midrange value pile that ramps hard, deploys dragons, and closes with a single explosive combat turn.
