Deck overview

This Gruul deck is an aggressive, engine-driven stompy strategy built around Bello, Bard of the Brambles. Bello turns every non-Equipment artifact and non-Aura enchantment with mana value 4 or greater into an indestructible 4/4 Elemental with haste and combat-damage card draw during your turn. With 28 qualifying permanents, the list boasts exceptional functional redundancy, ensuring reliable curve-outs into cards like Hedron Archive, Esika's Chariot, and Glorious Sunrise. Once online, damage multipliers such as Unnatural Growth, Gratuitous Violence, and Fiery Emancipation turn animated permanents into lethal combat threats while refilling your hand. Because animated permanents revert to non-creatures during opponents' turns, the board naturally evades sorcery-speed creature wipes. However, the deck lacks dedicated instant-speed protection spells, making Bello, Bard of the Brambles a prime target for opposing spot removal. Backed by standalone threats like Etali, Primal Storm and Ghalta, Primal Hunger, the deck reliably overwhelms opponents through relentless combat pressure.
