Commander: The Howling Abomination

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

The Howling Abomination is a RG spellslinger deck that turns cheap cantrips and pump spells into commander damage and table-wide burn. The primary plan is to cast the hasty commander on turn three, then chain one-mana spells that target only it: each target trigger makes it bigger and deals 2 to every opponent, while cantrips keep the chain stocked. Copy engines like Zada, Hedron Grinder, Mirrorwing Dragon, Leyline of Resonance, and Frontline Heroism multiply those triggers, and Storm-Kiln Artist supplies the extra mana. The finish is typically a double-strike attack with Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar copying the damage to all opponents, or a Chandra's Ignition that one-shots the table. A secondary route uses Venerated Rotpriest and Young Pyromancer to win with poison or tokens.
