Format: Commander

Commander: Volrath, the Shapestealer

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This Sultai deck uses -1/-1 counters and proliferate to grind value and threaten poison. Volrath, the Shapestealer puts a counter on each combat and can copy any creature with a counter, but the deck does not need him to win. The main engine is Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons and Nest of Scarabs making tokens whenever you place -1/-1 counters, with Blowfly Infestation looping counters when creatures die. Secondary paths use Mikaeus, the Unhallowed with Walking Ballista for infinite damage and Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider with Vraska, Betrayal's Sting for a one-shot poison kill. Infect creatures and proliferate provide steady pressure while you assemble a combo.
