Deck overview

This Gruul deck is led by Kibo, Uktabi Prince, combining group-hug artifact distribution with aggressive artifact punishment and Ape tribal scaling. The primary game plan revolves around deploying Kibo early, handing out Banana tokens to opponents, and rapidly growing Kibo and other Apes whenever opponents sacrifice artifacts or have them destroyed. The deck accelerates this growth with untap engines like Sting, the Glinting Dagger and counter multipliers such as Branching Evolution and Doubling Season. Once the board has sufficient artifacts, cards like Vandalblast, Gorilla Shaman, and Sardian Avenger trigger massive stat increases and punishing direct damage. The deck closes games through overwhelming combat damage, utilizing trample from Garruk's Uprising and Akroma's Memorial. While highly effective at punishing Treasure and artifact strategies, the deck relies heavily on combat steps and natural draws for its payoffs.
