Deck overview

This Simic deck focuses on Merfolk typal synergy and +1/+1 counter accumulation driven by Hakbal of the Surging Soul. The game plan curves out with low-cost Merfolk during early turns, establishing board presence before resolving Hakbal on Turn 4. Hakbal immediately supercharges the board by exploring with every Merfolk at combat, providing steady card filtering, land drops, and stat growth. As the board swells, the deck transitions into lethal combat steps around Turn 6 using unblockability enablers like Herald of Secret Streams or asymmetric sweepers like Raise the Palisade and Wave Goodbye. A solid suite of interaction and protection spells helps maintain tempo, while explore land velocity ensures consistent mana development.
