Balan by Sau

Format: Commander

Commander: Balan, Wandering Knight

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Balan, Wandering Knight is the deck's payoff: the deck floods the board with Equipment, then activates Balan to attach everything for a double-strike commander-damage kill. The supporting shell is unusually defensive, with a wall/defender package built around Rammas Echor, Ancient Shield-the hidden commander-that draws cards, makes 0/3 Wall tokens, and gives exalted to defenders. Tutors Cloud and Urza's Saga find Colossus Hammer; Sram, Puresteel Paladin, and The One Ring keep the hand full. Backup clocks include Colossus of Akros, Darksteel Colossus, and Sinner's Judgment. The key is assembling two+ Equipment; the first successful double-strike swing usually ends the game before opponents can untap.
