Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy 5-color spellslinger list built around the custom Prepare mechanic and legendary commander Codie, Ravenous Codex. Prepare creatures enter ready to cast an attached instant or sorcery copy, and Codie doubles every prepared spell cast. The deck leverages Magecraft engines like Archmage Emeritus, Storm-Kiln Artist, and Veyran, Voice of Duality to generate massive card advantage and mana bursts. Its primary win condition centers on Displacer Kitten blinking prepare creatures such as Blazing Firesinger // Seething Song, creating infinite mana and storm to burn the table with Emeritus of Conflict // Lightning Bolt or Ral, Storm Conduit. With flexible built-in tutors and recursion across prepare cards, the deck maintains high consistency, executing a compact same-turn finish around Turn 4 while retaining resilient backup storm plans.
