Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black aristocrats and tribal swarm strategy commanded by Ghoulcaller Gisa. The primary game plan accelerates into early undercosted, high-power creatures such as Rotting Regisaur, Phyrexian Soulgorger, and Yargle, Glutton of Urborg. Once Ghoulcaller Gisa enters the battlefield and untaps on Turn 5, she sacrifices these massive creatures to generate an immediate army of 7 to 9 2/2 Zombie tokens. The deck translates this token swarm into victory through two primary vectors: overwhelming combat damage powered by anthems like Coat of Arms and Undead Warchief, or explosive life drain using aristocrat staples such as Mirkwood Bats, Plague Belcher, Vengeful Dead, and Ayara, First of Locthwain. A robust suite of mono-black big-mana lands like Cabal Coffers and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx fuels high-impact finishers like Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Exsanguinate, while Grave Pact and Dictate of Erebos keep opposing creature boards completely suppressed.
