Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Grixis combat-spellslinger deck led by Fire Lord Azula. The strategy revolves around deploying Azula and attacking to trigger Firebending 2 for free red mana while copying every instant and flash spell cast during combat. By chaining low-cost rituals, cantrips, and pump spells during the combat phase, the deck generates exponential card advantage and mana through engines like Storm-Kiln Artist, Archmage Emeritus, and Birgi, God of Storytelling. Win conditions leverage copied burn spells and Magecraft triggers from Guttersnipe, Fiery Inscription, Coruscation Mage, Professor Onyx, or a lethal storm of Grapeshot, closing the game in a single explosive turn. The list features robust stack protection including Deflecting Swat, Stubborn Denial, and Brotherhood Regalia to ensure safe attacks, alongside flexible Grixis spot interaction to disrupt opponents while developing its board.
