Deck overview

This deck is a classic Phyrexian poison and proliferate midrange build commanded by Atraxa, Praetors' Voice. The primary game plan infects every opponent early using low-mana toxic creatures, evasive infect threats, or direct spells like Prologue to Phyresis and Ichor Rats. Once opponents have their first poison counters, the deck pivots into compounding proliferate triggers led by Atraxa, Tekuthal, Inquiry Dominus, and Evolution Sage. Because poison counters never degrade and 10 counters eliminate a player regardless of life totals, the deck ignores traditional life gain and applies equal pressure to the entire table. While the deck boasts robust functional redundancy and strong mana fixing, it relies heavily on creature permanents staying on the board. It uses equipment and targeted protection to shield key assets while ticking opponents up to lethal poison across Turns 6 and 7.
