Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir Zombie Aristocrats build led by Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver. The primary strategy focuses on developing a wide board of Zombie creatures, converting nontoken deaths into decayed Zombie tokens, and leveraging those tokens for steady card draw and aristocrat drain triggers. The deck operates smoothly on curve, using low-cost mana rocks to deploy Wilhelt by Turn 4. From there, it scales up through tribal lords such as Undead Warchief and Death Baron, which make combat profitable while discouraging board wipes through death triggers from Diregraf Captain and Plague Belcher. In the mid-to-late game, the deck closes games either through a large burst of devotion drain from Gray Merchant of Asphodel, a lethal combat swing backed by mass sacrifice, or an infinite casting loop with Rooftop Storm, Gravecrawler, and a sacrifice outlet. While resilient to ordinary destruction, the deck must manage exposure to exile sweepers and dedicated graveyard removal.
