Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Grixis control strategy built around Marchesa, Dealer of Death. It leverages crimes—targeting opponents, their permanents, or their graveyards—to fuel card selection and fill the graveyard. By combining efficient removal, theft spells, and sacrifice outlets, the deck disrupts opposing game plans while generating high-value reanimation targets. Key finishers such as Archon of Cruelty, Terror of the Peaks, and Gisa, the Hellraiser create overwhelming board states and lethal attrition loops. Supported by premier free interaction like Deflecting Swat and Fierce Guardianship, the deck protects its engines while grinding opponents down to zero life.
