Deck overview

This deck leverages Doctor Doom, King of Latveria at the helm of a Grixis discard and connive strategy. The core engine converts every discarded card—especially lands—into direct life drain, board control, and explosive mana generation. Efficient early ramp enables a consistent Turn 4 deployment of Doctor Doom, immediately triggering combat connive to filter cards and burn opponents. The midgame accelerates rapidly through wheel effects like Wheel of Fortune and Windfall, which interact devastatingly with payoffs such as Archfiend of Ifnir, Glint-Horn Buccaneer, and Sheoldred, the Apocalypse. A synergistic loop involving Trade Routes, Dakmor Salvage, and Surly Badgersaur provides an alternate avenue to drain the table while filling the graveyard. Backed by efficient interaction, versatile reanimation spells, and protective countermagic, the deck applies relentless multi-opponent pressure while maintaining resilience against removal.
