Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black control and stax strategy helmed by Maha, Its Feathers Night. Maha sets the base toughness of all opposing creatures to 1, turning any global -1/-1 static effect, damage trigger, or minor board wipe into an asymmetric, total board clear. Permanents like Night of Souls' Betrayal, Kaervek, the Spiteful, M.O.D.O.K., and Caltrops lock opponents out of maintaining any creature presence entirely. Meanwhile, the deck converts mass creature death into commanding resource advantages through engines like Massacre Girl, Known Killer, Morbid Opportunist, Pitiless Plunderer, and Revel in Riches. Once creature-based decks are suppressed, Maha applies evasive commander damage alongside life-drain attrition from Vein Ripper, Syr Konrad, the Grim, Massacre Wurm, and Gray Merchant of Asphodel to close out the game.
