Celes Persist by Glendog

Format: Commander

Commander: Celes, Rune Knight

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Mardu reanimator/aristocrats combo deck helmed by Celes, Rune Knight, built around one of the most redundant persist-loop engines in the format. The primary plan is to fill the graveyard, reanimate persist creatures, and loop them through sacrifice outlets while Celes, Rune Knight or Cathars' Crusade supplies the +1/+1 counter that breaks the persist -1/-1 counter, generating infinite death and enter triggers. Those triggers convert into a win through a deep drain-payoff suite: Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim, Bastion of Remembrance, Purphoros, God of the Forge, and Impact Tremors. The deck packs 6 persist creatures, 7 sacrifice outlets, and 7 drain payoffs, making the combo nearly impossible to fully disrupt. A massive reanimation package (Reanimate, Victimize, Sun Titan, Rise of the Dark Realms, and more) provides both assembly and recovery.
