The Highlander Dragon by b.templar428

Format: Commander

Commander: Niv-Mizzet, Guildpact

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a five-color dragon/treasure midrange deck that uses Niv-Mizzet, Guildpact mainly as a 6/6 flying hexproof-from-multicolored beater; his trigger is nearly dormant because the list contains only one exactly-two-color permanent (Absolute Virtue). The real engine is treasure generation: Bootleggers' Stash, Brass's Bounty, Ancient Copper Dragon, and Academy Manufactor feed Smaug the Magnificent's damage trigger and make Adaptive Omnitool huge. The primary win is voltron commander damage from Niv equipped with Aettir and Priwen or Adaptive Omnitool, with Absolute Virtue and reanimated dragons as backup. A dense counterspell suite and recursion from Muldrotha and Ancient Brass Dragon keep the plan alive. Hidden commander: Smaug the Magnificent.
