Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan graveyard-centric Voltron strategy commanded by Kathril, Aspect Warper. The primary game plan focuses on filling the graveyard with creature cards that possess diverse combat keywords such as flying, double strike, vigilance, trample, indestructible, and hexproof. Cards like Buried Alive, Jarad's Orders, Grisly Salvage, and Stitcher's Supplier quickly deposit premium donors like Zetalpa, Primal Dawn into the graveyard. On Turn 5, Kathril, Aspect Warper enters the battlefield, distributing these keywords across your board and placing a +1/+1 counter on itself for each keyword granted. This transforms Kathril into an evasive, resilient monster capable of eliminating opponents with 22+ commander damage in a single attack. Redundant keyword recipients like Cairn Wanderer and Odric, Lunarch Marshal provide solid backup pressure, while cards like The Ozolith ensure counter investment survives creature removal.
