Machina Marchesa

Format: Commander

Commander: Marchesa, the Black Rose

Bracket: 3

DeckCheck Threat Index: 34

Deck overview

This deck leverages Marchesa, the Black Rose to turn modular artifact creatures into an immortal, compounding recursion engine. By playing low-cost modular creatures in the early turns, you ensure that your board enters with +1/+1 counters. When Marchesa is deployed, these creatures trigger dethrone when attacking the player with the most life, guaranteeing counter placement across your team. Sacrifice outlets like Arcbound Ravager, Krark-Clan Ironworks, and Skullclamp allow you to sacrifice modular creatures at will. When they die, modular passes their counters to other artifact creatures or Marchesa herself, while Marchesa's triggered ability returns them to the battlefield at the next end step with their original counters refreshed. Over several turn cycles, your creatures grow exponentially, drawing cards, clearing opposing boards with Wave Goodbye, and delivering lethal damage through Uncivil Unrest, Flayer of the Hatebound, or Krang, Utrom Warlord.
