Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov Superfriends midrange engine commanded by Lae'zel, Vlaakith's Champion and Scion of Halaster. The strategy focuses on establishing early board control and defensive pillowfort elements to protect planeswalkers that enter and tick up at accelerated rates thanks to Lae'zel's counter-modifying replacement ability. Scion of Halaster smooths early land drops and card quality by filtering draws into the graveyard. The midgame deploys a dense suite of planeswalkers capable of generating creature tokens, removing opposing threats, and drawing cards. Stax pieces like Authority of the Consuls and Tomik, Orzhov Lawmage deter attacks on planeswalkers, buying the critical turns needed to fire off backbreaking ultimates from Liliana, Dreadhorde General or Vraska, Betrayal's Sting. Heavy recursion such as Primevals' Glorious Rebirth ensures durability against board wipes.
