Deck overview

Ghave, Guru of Spores leads an Abzan token and +1/+1 counter engine that blends Fungus tribal flavor with aristocrat attrition. The deck establishes early mana fixing and ramp to deploy Ghave by Turn 5. Once active, Ghave converts mana, counters, and creatures interchangeably, generating a dense army of Saprolings. High-synergy anchors like Doubling Season, Branching Evolution, and Tendershoot Dryad quickly scale the board into a must-answer threat by Turn 6. The deck controls opposing battlefields through asymmetric attrition cards like Aura Shards and Grave Pact, which repeatedly strip enemy artifacts, enchantments, and creatures. Victory is achieved around Turn 8 through overwhelming combat damage buffed by Eldrazi Monument or through non-combat life drain via Blood Artist and Zulaport Cutthroat. While the deck lacks fast mana, stack interaction, and dedicated tutors, its high internal redundancy and instant-speed sacrifice mechanics create a resilient, self-sustaining value engine.
