Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet Dragon tribal and forced-combat aggro-control deck commanded by Firkraag, Cunning Instigator. The strategy accelerates on turns 1 to 3 using 2-CMC mana rocks and tribal cost-reducers like Dragonlord's Servant and Urza's Incubator. On turn 4, Firkraag enters the battlefield with haste and attacks to goad high-threat opposing creatures. As opponents are forced to attack one another, Firkraag grows with +1/+1 counters while generating substantial card advantage. On turn 6, the deck achieves critical onset by deploying massive flying Dragons such as Ancient Copper Dragon, Goldspan Dragon, and Scourge of the Throne, or casting mass goad effects like Disrupt Decorum and Bothersome Quasit. Efficient interaction including Fierce Guardianship, Deflecting Swat, and Cyclonic Rift protects the board and clears blockers, allowing the deck to close the game on turn 8 through overwhelming aerial combat damage.
