Deck overview

Sauron, the Dark Lord is a Grixis amass/recursion midrange deck. It builds a single Army token, stacks +1/+1 counters through repeated amass triggers, then finishes by attacking with trample, menace, and double strike. Sauron is primarily a draw engine: each Ring temptation can discard the hand and draw four, feeding Archfiend of Ifnir and the graveyard. Saruman, the White Hand acts as a hidden secondary engine, turning every noncreature spell into additional Army growth. Secondary damage paths include All Will Be One, The Great Goblin, and burn from Soul's Fire or Chandra's Ignition. There is no true infinite combo; the deck wins through a huge Army backed by draw, recursion, and overrun effects.
