Deck overview

This deck is a Jund midrange attrition engine centered on -1/-1 counters with Auntie Ool, Cursewretch at the helm. Auntie Ool turns counter distribution into steady card advantage when targeting friendly creatures while draining opponents whenever their creatures are blighted. The list features dense functional redundancy in counter placement through cards like Carnifex Demon, Soul Snuffers, and Midnight Banshee, which shrink opposing threats and bypass indestructible effects. Payoffs such as Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons and Flourishing Defenses convert counter placement into wide armies of deathtouch Snakes and Elves. Meanwhile, Kulrath Knight and Everlasting Torment lock down opposing combat steps and prevent life gain. While the deck lacks fast combo lines and stack interaction, it excels at grinding opponents down through asymmetric board wipes, card draw velocity, and sustained life drain.
