Deck overview

This deck is an Esper reanimator and control strategy commanded by Hashaton, Scarab's Fist. It focuses on discarding massive creature threats to create 4/4 Zombie token copies for just {2}{U}. Early turns establish board presence and card velocity through efficient looting creatures like Psychic Frog, Likeness Looter, and Ghostly Pilferer. By turns 4 and 5, Hashaton cheats game-warping monsters into play, such as Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur to strip opponents of their hands or Razaketh, the Foulblooded to tutor critical win conditions. The primary endgame converts Razaketh's sacrifice capability into the compact Thassa's Oracle and Demonic Consultation combo, ending the game on turn 6. A robust package of low-cost counterspells and targeted removal protects the engine, while stax-adjacent threats like Toxrill, the Corrosive and Archfiend of Ifnir suppress opposing boards.
