Deck overview

This deck is a Mono-Black Control and Big Mana Aristocrats shell designed to control the battlefield through steady attrition before finishing with overwhelming resource disparity. Rather than relying on early commander deployment, the deck utilizes Avacyn, Angel of Horror primarily as an end-game insurance piece. During the early and mid-game, it develops mana through doublers such as Cabal Coffers, Crypt Ghast, and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, while establishing engines with Skullclamp, Necropotence, and recurring sacrifice fodder. It denies opposing creature boards with asymmetrical edict effects like Grave Pact and Dictate of Erebos. Once mana is abundant, the deck pivots into game-ending threats, using Torment of Hailfire to decimate opposing resources or Bolas's Citadel to overwhelm the table. Redundant reanimation and diverse drain outlets make the strategy resilient against board sweepers, though it remains vulnerable to stack-based interaction.
