Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Gruul stompy and artifact-control strategy commanded by Kibo, Uktabi Prince. The game plan revolves around deploying Kibo early, generating Banana tokens for all players, and leveraging dense artifact destruction to grow an army of Apes, Monkeys, and Changelings with +1/+1 counters. Counter enhancers such as Hardened Scales, Branching Evolution, and Doubling Season rapidly accelerate the power of creatures like Taurean Mauler, Silverback Elder, and Kogla, the Titan Ape. Trample enablers (Garruk's Uprising, Kodama of the West Tree) and extra combat phases (Karlach, Fury of Avernus, Aggravated Assault) translate this board presence into lethal combat damage starting on Turn 6 and finishing by Turn 8. The deck effectively punishes artifact-heavy tables while protecting its key turns with Heroic Intervention and Deflecting Swat.
