Deck overview

This Golgari deck utilizes The Mycotyrant as a scalable engine that turns self-mill and sacrifice into a growing army of Fungus tokens. By utilizing dredge staples such as Golgari Grave-Troll and Stinkweed Imp alongside early mill cards like Stitcher's Supplier and Grisly Salvage, the deck consistently triggers descend on every turn. The graveyard effectively functions as an extended hand through potent recursion spells like Reanimate, Dread Return, and Six. As tokens accumulate, the deck shifts from resource generation into lethal pressure via team-wide pumps like Overwhelming Stampede and Overrun, or direct life drain through Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord, Syr Konrad, the Grim, and Mirkwood Bats. While possessing efficient spot removal in Assassin's Trophy and Abrupt Decay, the deck runs minimal protection against sweepers and targeted graveyard exile, making proper pacing and recursive recovery vital to closing out games.
