Deck overview

This deck executes a competitive Mono-Red Moon Stax game plan helmed by Tannuk, Steadfast Second. The primary objective is to deploy severe proactive lock pieces on Turns 1 and 2—such as Blood Moon, Trinisphere, Torpor Orb, Chalice of the Void, and Vexing Bauble—using explosive mana acceleration like Mishra's Workshop, Ancient Tomb, Mox Diamond, and Mana Vault. These pieces paralyze opposing resource development, shut down enter-the-battlefield win conditions, and tax storm lines. Tannuk breaks parity on this restricted resource landscape by granting other creatures haste and allowing the deck to cast massive artifact threats from hand for a flat warp cost of {2}{R}. On Turn 4, warping Blightsteel Colossus or Portal to Phyrexia creates decisive board dominance, eliminating opponents with lethal infect damage and asymmetrical attrition while backup threats like Alexios, Deimos of Kosmos and Toralf, God of Fury close the remaining response windows.
