Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet Dragon tribal strategy led by Sarkhan, Soul Aflame. Sarkhan provides continuous mana velocity by reducing the casting cost of all Dragon spells by one generic mana, while functioning as a potent clone engine that copies any Dragon entering the battlefield under your control until end of turn. The deck accelerates through low-cost artifact ramp and Dragon cost-reducers on early turns, deploying Sarkhan on Turn 3. On Turn 4 and Turn 5, it drops massive flying threats like Terror of the Peaks, Scourge of Valkas, and Utvara Hellkite, doubling their triggers and dealing lethal bursts of direct burn alongside combat damage. Asymmetric board resets like Raise the Palisade and Cyclonic Rift clear opposing defenses, while free defensive interaction protects the commander during crucial combo and attack turns.
