Deck overview

This deck is a Mono-Blue spellslinger and Merfolk tribal deck commanded by Namor the Sub-Mariner. The strategy aims to deploy Namor early and cast blue noncreature spells, such as counterspells, bounce effects, and enchantments, to create an army of 1/1 Merfolk tokens. These tokens expand the board wide while simultaneously boosting Namor's power to lethal flying heights. Traditional Merfolk lords like Lord of Atlantis and Merrow Reejerey grant islandwalk and anthem buffs, turning the token swarm into an unblockable combat clock. The deck backs up this aggressive creature strategy with a high density of stack interaction, using countermagic to protect key permanents and disrupt opposing win conditions. While vulnerable to resolved noncreature permanents and mass sweepers if mana is tapped low, the deck achieves strong tempo swings by converting reactive spells directly into evasive board presence.
