Deck overview

This Rakdos deck is built around Smaug the Impenetrable, utilizing his indestructible keyword and damage-triggered ability to convert massive symmetrical board wipes into one-sided Treasure explosions. In the early turns, the deck develops mana using cost reducers such as Dragonspeaker Shaman and mana rocks like Dragon's Hoard. Once Smaug enters combat on Turn 6, damage spells like Blasphemous Act, Cut Propulsion, and Star of Extinction deal noncombat damage directly to Smaug without destroying him, yielding 13 to 20 Treasure tokens in a single action. The resulting Treasure avalanche fuels massive follow-up plays, triggering burn from Mirkwood Bats and Wrathful Red Dragon, flooding the skies via Draconic Visitor, or taking extra combats with Hellkite Charger. While vulnerable to exile effects and lacking stack counterplay, the deck delivers overwhelming aerial pressure and explosive resource swings.
