Deck overview

This deck is a dedicated Dimir mill strategy piloted by Phenax, God of Deception. The game plan revolves around deploying efficient, high-toughness creatures early in the game, such as The Ancient One, Tree of Perdition, and Consuming Aberration. Once Phenax hits the board, these creatures tap to mill opponents directly proportional to their toughness. The deck accelerates this clock using mill multipliers like Bruvac the Grandiloquent and The Water Crystal, alongside massive chunk-mill spells like Maddening Cacophony, Fractured Sanity, and Terisian Mindbreaker. Because Phenax is indestructible and frequently avoids creature board wipes through devotion thresholds, the engine possesses natural durability. Card draw staples like Rhystic Study and The One Ring sustain hand size while interaction like Force of Will and Fell the Profane keep opposing threats in check. The deck closes games around Turn 8 by completely depleting opposing libraries.
