Commander: Katara, Waterbending Master

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This mono-blue control/value deck is helmed by Katara, Waterbending Master, a commander that rewards instant-speed spellcasting with experience counters and turns them into card advantage on attack. The deck leverages a dense suite of cheap instants-counterspells, bounce, cantrips-and a proliferate sub-theme to build up experience counters, grow threats like Chasm Skulker and Psychosis Crawler, and eventually close the game through hand-size payoffs (Nerd Rage, Triskaidekaphile) or self-mill wins with Laboratory Maniac / Jace, Wielder of Mysteries. It is a highly interactive, draw-go style list that aims to control the table through disruption and incremental advantage rather than explosive combos.
