Deck overview

This Golgari deck floods the battlefield with low-cost mana dorks and creature tokens to exploit its commander, Witherbloom, the Balancer. By building a wide board of six or more creatures by Turn 4, you reduce the casting cost of Witherbloom to just {B}{G}. Once on the battlefield, the commander grants affinity for creatures to all your instants and sorceries. This ability dramatically discounts high-impact spells such as Shamanic Revelation, In Garruk's Wake, and massive X-cost finishers like Torment of Hailfire and Finale of Devastation. On Turn 5, the deck regularly executes a lethal overrun by tutoring Craterhoof Behemoth with a discounted Finale, dealing lethal combat damage to all three opponents at once.
