Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black aristocrats and self-mill strategy commanded by Syr Konrad, the Grim. The primary game plan focuses on filling the graveyard with creature cards using dredge, self-mill artifacts, and targeted discard, then converting creature zone transitions into lethal life loss. With Syr Konrad on the battlefield, any creature dying, milling, or leaving a graveyard deals direct damage to each opponent. The deck leverages powerful synergies like Mindcrank to trigger cascading mill-damage loops, and recursive loops like Gravecrawler with Warren Soultrader to drain opponents in a single turn. Defensively, asymmetric sacrifice engines like Grave Pact and Archfiend of Depravity keep opposing boards clear of threats while the deck replenishes its hand through death-triggered card draw. Heavy reanimation packages ensure quick recovery from disruption.
