Deck overview

This Golgari deck leverages Ygra, Eater of All to transform every creature on the board into a Food artifact. By doing so, it ties traditional aristocrat sacrifice synergies directly into rapid commander-damage scaling. Early turns focus on establishing mana fixing and token fodder using cards like Vinereap Mentor and Heaped Harvest. Once Ygra enters on Turn 5, any creature death or artifact sacrifice immediately fuels Ygra with +1/+1 counters while triggering life drain via Marionette Apprentice, Al Bhed Salvagers, and Susurian Voidborn. Because the list eschews infinite combo loops, it aims to eliminate opponents through sequenced commander combat and aristocrat bleed. The deck thrives on board stalls where opposing creatures can be forced into combat or removed to trigger massive growth, though its lack of native trample and reliance on commander survival leave it vulnerable to sweepers and chump blocking.
