Cosmic Fear Garou by Rinime_Richie

Format: Commander

Commander: Volrath, the Shapestealer

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

At its core this is a Sultai "death by a thousand -1/-1 counters" deck. Volrath, the Shapestealer starts each combat by seeding a -1/-1 counter on a creature, then turns into that creature as a 7/5 - a flexible way to copy anything from Massacre Girl, Known Killer to Bloated Contaminator. The real engine, however, lives in the 99. Nest of Scarabs and Flourishing Defenses convert every -1/-1 counter into a token, and Blowfly Infestation turns token deaths into a self-sustaining infinite loop. Obelisk Spider and Scheming Aspirant convert counters and proliferate into life loss. A typical game is midrange: establish the counter/token engine, control the board with Black Sun's Zenith, Liliana's Influence, and Necroskitter, then end the game with the Blowfly loop or a swarm of tokens. Volrath is a threat, not the plan.
