Syrix, Carrier of the Flame by Static

Format: Commander

Commander: Syrix, Carrier of the Flame

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Phoenix tribal build helmed by Syrix, Carrier of the Flame. The primary game plan is to flood the battlefield with flying, hasty phoenixes, exploit their self-recursion abilities, and convert the constant stream of deaths and re-entries into damage via Syrix's end-step trigger and utility effects like Warstorm Surge and Sulfuric Vortex. The commander itself is a phoenix with haste that can be cast from the graveyard when another phoenix dies, making it a resilient piece of the engine. The deck wins through incremental combat damage from a swarm of recurring fliers, supplemented by direct burn from Court of Ire, Warstorm Surge, and Syrix's own trigger. There is no infinite combo; victory hinges on grinding out the table through relentless recursion and pressure.
